RED @ Wall St.

Wall Street

In my numerous walks around the streets of New York, I have been dutifully capturing the Big Apple's charm. Not for a moment, I thought that this picture would tell a story one day i.e. Today - One of the worst days witnessed by Wall St. Its Red all over and its still not over.

Gordon said Greed is Good. And the guys at the Wall St. swore by it. So, now we have a Mr. Lehman falling down with many more to follow.

Author of one of my favorite comic strip Calvin Hobbes,Bill Watterson, said “To make a business decision, you don't need much philosophy; all you need is greed, and maybe a little knowledge of how the game works.” Am sure that this sarcasm was taken a bit too seriously by these folks.

Isn't it easy to understand the immortal words of the great Gandhi - “There is enough in the world for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed.”

Seeing Red,

Clicking around the city, reading Gordon, Bill Watterson and Gandhi, and being up-to-date with news... dude, you are doing a lot these days.

Keep it up.

Liked your idea of the copyright in the pic :)

@Nirav - well, not a lot but few things which are worth living for. @copyright, I have been reading about various blog pics copies blatantly on other sites and newspaper, so thought of learning from them. I would like to have your comment on the topic.

@Hiren - I have heard some really bad stories of 2001. hope they remain stories for us

I would still agree with Mr. Gordon in this case... Greed is good, but it has to coexist with sanity.

The problem is that sometimes, as is the case now, greed becomes the opposite of sanity. They are not opposites. They needn't be.

This pic of yours says a lot about the present day financial markets. It highlights your sense of noticing small small things in life. This penchant of noticing minute details makes me your ardent fan. The way in which you have depicted the current scenario is too good for words !! You inspire !

**There is enough in the world for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed.”

stands true for all times and all humans! Greed is the absence of Sanity.
